It is made of hard beech wood, doesn't ding or dent easily. Smooth, no rough areas or splinters, fine sanded and hand polished for a super smooth natural wood finish. Color is a light wood, not quite blonde and may vary. Minimal grain but it is natural wood, so grain is visible.
